Another one. . . . in March!

Getting ready to cast on for another Surprise Jacket - this time following the adult pattern for y nearly 5 year old daughter. I started a Knit-along if any Zimmermaniacs want to join in!
I started this last March, got distracted, and picked it up again in January. Knit on it on and off and then went really head down these last few weeks. It was (ahem) a learning experience, and there are posts about my progress, forward and backward, over at my blog.
I've already cast on for a sweater for his older brother. Once I've finished that, I'll start one for my husband. He will only wear cardigans. I'm hoping by the time I've grafted my third shirt-yoke, I'll be ready to cut my knitting. It could happen.
It has been a good weekend. I was able to finish another project. Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman. I absolutely love the pattern and made this project as a familiarization with the pattern. The next attempt would be to modify it a bit.

This was a gift for my mother for Christmas 2006. I knitted this at a frantic pace for about 2 months, then was still doing details on Christmas Eve. Yikes. Blocking never even crossed my mind with this, and really it didn't need it. I can't tell you how in love I am with this pattern. I want to try the pull-over version just to do the fishtrap pattern again.

This past Christmas I knitted EZ's Norwegian mittens from Knitting Around. I missed getting a picture though, so I'll have to visit home and grab a shot so I can share. Visit my blog for more about his sweater: http://www.major-moonbeam.blogspot.com/.
