Rib Warmer Yardage Query

I want to knit a Rib Warmer from Manos del Uraguay, but Knitting Workshop gives no indication of how much yarn I need.

Can onyone make any suggestions? And if this is a really bad idea for any reason, could you let me know now?

  • All I can tell you, Helen, is that I'm almost half-way done and just started my second skein of worsted (about 220 or so yards). So I'd say 700-800 might be a fair bet.

I'll be posting an in-progress photo of mine when I get to work today on my blog.

I'm loving it, and see this as the first of several.

  • In the article I have from the the Fall/Winter 1986 Knitters, Elizabeth calls for 12oz of knitting worsted with a gauge of 4 sts to 1". I am applying I-cord to the vest I finished over the weekend (medium size) and I am into the third 100 gram skein of yarn I purchased for this project.
