Oh Me of Little Faith

Here's the schematic again:

Here's my first half:

Whew! All my worries for nothing. On to part 2, but here's a close up of the short rows:

I'm not too happy about the gaps, and I'm sure EZ has a trick somewhere to avoid them, but I'm forging ahead, and will most likely order the updated instructions for later versions.

I'm thinking black wool for an I-Cord edging, and maybe pewter clasps.

  • Hi there,

Try "knittinghelp.com" and look at the "advanced techniques" tab. There is an excellent video on doing invisible shortrows!

  • I've knitted one of these and like you got the same effect. I convinced the recipient it was a decorative touch. I did have fun knitting it though but didn't know there was an updated version. I am now much better at short-rowing and you've inspired me to try again.

  • EZ liked the diagonal holes -- but to obviate them, you can employ Wrapping at each turn. Then - when you meet that wrap again, do NOT knit the wrap together with the slipped stitch (for garter-stitch only) as the wrap itself resembles a garter... Onward, Meg
