ganomy in red

had a hat knitting craze a little time ago. did this red ganomy which is as red as the green ganomy of yesterday's post is green. this is in sockweight merino baby wool. i did a few alterations so it would fit a 6 month old baby. i love elizabeth's idea about putting in a ping pong ball so the hat will float.... this one can't though. the top is filled with scraps of wool.

  • I made a dark blue ganomy hat yesterday. I bought five of EZ's books for myself and I decided to knit this hat first. I didn't bother about matching Elizabeth's gauge - mine was 5 sts to the inch so came out smaller than hers - but I got a bit confused at the end when one is told to decrease to 14 sts - by the time I got to 18 sts I only had one stitch left between each of my markers so I did one more decrease and finished with 16 instead. It looks cute - it's too small for my smallest child (aged 8) so I will have to find a friend to give it to!
