BSJ News Flash
If you haven't picked it up yet, make sure you get yourself a copy of Vogue Knitting's Spring/Summer edition. Meg shares a variation of the Baby Surprise Jacket that she found in one of Elizabeth's notebooks. It's shaped a lot like the heartbreakingly cute baby kimono from Mason-Dixon Knitting, but with that crazy BSJ flair. I can't wait to try it, so the magazine and some cotton tweed are going on Spring Break with me. Hope to show you when I get back!

I just got the magazine last night. Do you know what is the jumper weight wool in the pattern? Is that DK weight?

No, it's the Vogue Knitting Spring Summer issue. http://www.vogueknitting.com/

Since the pattern suggests a size 3 to 5 needle, I would assume it's DK or sport weight. I'm going to use a bigger needle because I'm using worsted yarn, so my sweater will fit a slightly bigger baby.

The Baby Surplice is my favorite EZ baby sweater so far. I used Laines du nord baby star to make one and now I'm doing another out of Laines du nord Dolly. The finished pictures are on my blog: http://gardenofcolor.blogspot.com on Feb 8th. Happy knitting!

Ooooh ... thanks for the head's up. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
I love the BSJ. And I now love the MD kimono. And there's a new baby-to-be to knit for and I'm torn betweem wthe two.
So I'll just try the new pattern.
