Surplice Sweater

This is a Surplice Sweater I just finished. The pattern is from the Spring Vogue Knitting. I made it for Dulaan, out of leftover yarn.
The Dulaan project sends knitted clothing to Mongolia for people in need.

I used worsted weight yarn. The sweater measures 24" just under the arms.

I used a lot of buttons to make it adjustable and also to have extras in case some were lost.

It is a fun pattern. I think I'll make it again.

  • I love it! I've been thinking I want to do this sweater out of my scraps too, for Dulaan. Great minds, and all ;o)

  • i think this is the right choice for a mongolian child. it fits the mongolian tradition of clothing so well. i can easily imagine a little child wearing this. it is a nice idea to knit for charity. not very common here in denmark. and a nice palette for this sweater as well which is so simple that the colours cannot be too loud almost. not that yours are too loud.
