Hand-to-Hand Aran
Has anyone made this? I've got some great wool I bought in Ireland, and want to use it for this pattern. I was reading through the directions in Knitting Workshop, and was wondering if the sleeves could be knit on dp needles to start, then switch to back and forth on circulars when you get to the yoke.
What do you think?

I just finished making one (I know, I should post a picture- I'll get to it eventually) and that is exactly what I did. It worked great, and there were NO SEAMS!

me, too! Sleeve in the round to the yoke; struggle back and forth for a bit, then back to circular for other sleeve and body.
EZ did several splendid garter-stitch versions for her grandchildren as well -- all, naturally, back and forth

I swatched for it a while back, but decided I wanted to modify the cables a bit and change my yarn. Glad to hear that others had success doing it round all the way.

I've been eyeing this one, too. I'd probably opt for two circulars instead of dpns for the sleeves, just because I like to be able to stuff my projects into whatever bag I'm carrying and not worry about the dpns tangling or snagging other WIPs or falling out. It's a beautiful sweater, though. Can't wait to see how yours comes out!

Thanks for all the encouragement! I'll definitely do it that way.
