Color Choices for Icelandic Yoke Pullover
Hi all! Going on Adrian's suggestion, I've decided to check out Blackberry Ridge for Lorin's Icelandic Yoke Pullover, since it's likely to yield the 4st/1" called for. The very cool and talented Jared of Brooklyn Tweed graciously shared his enormous collection of Blackberry Ridge color cards with me so I didn't have to wait for them to arrive before placing a yarn order on Lorin's sweater (The Icelandic Yoke Pullover from The Opinionated Knitter). The two choices to which I narrowed it down are below. The grey will be for the body. The main yoke color will be the natural white with the other two as accent colors. Note that they appear much brighter on my monitor than they were in person (the light blue, for instance, is the most amazing soft periwinkle in reality), but you get the idea:
We'll have to see what Ms. Lorin thinks. I'm pulling for the oranges, myself.

I too love the oranges, especially during the autumn season.

ergh, the child has seemingly chosen the blues "because it's close to purple, which is my favorite color."
but i want to do the oranges.
maybe she should sleep on it ;)

Jess, you're so naughty! It would be equally lovely in raspberry and purple. Did you show her those? Is this the yoke sweater that's in purple and pink in the book?
Hee, sleep on it.

hm, i'll have to check out a raspberry / purple combo...
as for which sweater, no it's not the one early in the book, it's the one being modeled by an entire family somewhere in the middle, with the zig-zag like motif.

tell them that there was a shortage of wool in the blues.... that you were forced to knit orange or nothing at all.
a little lie never killed anyone - and orange is clearly the better choice ... ;)
