Baby Surprise Jacket eludes me

Can anyone tell me if there's a source for purchasing a downloadable version of the Baby Surprise Jacket pattern? I thought I had it in my piles of books, but alas no. I sadly do not own any EZ books that include that pattern. I would be happy to buy The Spun-Out Designs pattern for $3, but I hate to pay the $4.75 for shipping if I can download it instead. Plus- I don't want to wait for snail mail. I want it NOW.
My pile of yummy chocolate-brown and pale blue yarn begs to become something glorious.

Any tips?

Also, If anyone in Albuquerque wants to loan me their pattern, I'd gladly reciprocate by making you a glorious cup of coffee.

Much obliged.

  • I would just buy it from Amazon.com and have it express shipped if i were you. I believe the pattern is in a couple of books, including her Knitting Workshop. I don't want to sound preachy, but if you do find a downloadable version, it's probably copyright infringement because i've never seen any EZ patterns sold online. It's a really good deal buying them from a online store like Amazon, because of the discount and quick, free shipping. That's what I did.

  • Thank You.
I was hoping for a legitimate source for the pattern, as I do not wish to acquire it without the consent of Schoolhouse Press.
Like you, I presume that downloadable patterns are not available - but if they are, I figured somebody in this KAL may be able to help me find them.

  • I would give Schoolhouse Press a phone call 800 you knit. Shipping for just patterns they will ususally do for just the postage for that. Unless they've changed their policy in the last few years.

Meg is slow to latch on to new technology (didn't accept credit cards until a few years ago), so I doubt they'll have d/l patterns available any time soon.

  • Thank you everyone!
It looks like my local library is coming through for me. I love the library.
The only problem with all this research is that now I REALLY want to own Knitter's Workshop. Maybe I'll buy it for myself as a birthday treat...
Thank you for all the thoughtful ideas.

  • baby surprise is also in "opinionated Knitter", along with lots of pictures of finished ones. If I had to choose between O.K. and Knitting Workshop, I'd recommend Opinionated Knitter first. (Just thought I'd let you know.) -aimee wuridel@aol.com

  • I wish postage was just $4.75 - if you read the fine print, they state that they may charge up to US$30 for international postage for a $3 pattern. Totally unreasonable and unjustifiable! For that reason alone I felt no guilt in downloading the copyright infringed version!
