No more lurking
Hello all, I've been lurking for a while & I finally got a picture of my 2 yo Goddaughter in the EPS sweater I made her for Christmas, so here it is! Isn't she just the cutest?
It was done in Knitpicks wool of the andes, I dyed the pink yarns with koolaid.
I've been working on this Pi Shawl for a while in Socks that Rock Azure Malachite, but I've reached this point where I'm not sure I'm going to like it in such intense colors. I'm at a frogging decision point, I've been avoiding it for at least a month now.
What do you think?

She is a DOLL! You must be very proud of her!
I knit a Pi shawl back in the OMG 80s out of an Annie Blatt synthetic, mohair blend with a feathered edge in electric blues. At the time I thought it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I knit it for my mother who never wore it. It came back to me at her death and it is truly awful - I don't know what I was thinking. I say frog away and do one in a solid color that you love. And leave the feathers for a boa...

Don't frog! The blues are gorgeous and that's a lot of work to frog it.
I take donations of lovely pi shawls knit in socks that rock ;)
Seriously, it's lovely!
And your Goddaughter - so cute!

The yarn does seem a tad busy for the lace pattern. The yarn is gorgeous, your work on the shawl is gorgeous--just not a match made in heaven, KWIM? If it were me, I think I'd frog it and use the yarn for something that would better show it off and knit the pi shawl in a solid color yarn that would better show *it* off. But that's just me. I'm an enjoy-the-process knitter rather than a get-it-done knitter, and frogging huge amounts of knitting doesn't bother me one bit!

the girl and the yoke sweater are a match made in heaven.. but i think the shawl is a bit too blatant. i think i'd frog it and make use of the yarn for something else. and you have probably already decided since you ask the question asking the question is often the last step in making decisions.

Child is gorgeous.
So is the shawl.
Don't frog. It looks like the ocean. In motion. And the STR will have body and bounce when you walk.

The blues are spectacular -- like our New Mexico skies -- I think the shawl would look magnificently over a charcoal grey turtle or jacket or dress. If you didn't want a lot of contrast, try it over a light grey or one of the blues in the shawl.
