BSJ convert
I was so dubious as I knitted this. How could a slab of warped garter stitch become a balanced symmetrical cute jacket???
I've really enjoyed this from a knitting perspective - it's a fun project - but I think I'll enjoy the next one more now I understand how things work.
What I would do differently next time.
1/ Use a finer yarn (10-ply/worsted weight is way too heavy for a baby)
2/ As described in the excellent KnitWiki, change the pattern to avoid picking up stitches on the wrong side.

Thank you for sharing what you've learned and for the helpful links. I'm hoping to make one of these soon.
