This is the Baby Surprise Jacket finally finished! So cute and soft! The yarn is self-striping Mondial Kinder Baby, 70% merino wool/30% acrylic.
It is a gift and I don't know if the baby will be a boy or a girl. This yarn has both pink and blue but was pretty heavy on the blues and green so I am hoping that it will look appropriate for either gender.
I enjoy this pattern so much. I think it is that it is pretty much mindless knitting. As soon as one is finished, I start thinking about which yarn to use for the next one. I want to cast on right away!
Come see what else I am working on at my blog

I am getting so inpsired by this Zimmermania blog - must start my own Baby Surprise jacket soon- cannot believe you say it is "mindless"- I think it will be a bit harder for me. Your is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like the cuffs you added. I haven't tried this sweater yet, but I always think the sleeves look way short. I saw a pic of one on a baby, and the sleeves were pretty much elbow length! That's always kind of deterred me from getting started. Gotta make a mental note to add cuffs . . . (Any other tips to make sure the sleeves are adequate length, anyone?)
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm new to your blog, just browsed my way into it, I LOVE this jacket, where can I find the pattern? I really really want to make one! Fran

ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if you recall how many balls of the Modial Baby yarn it took for the baby suprise sweater. I have 5 balls and am hoping thats enough.
