I have only the buttons left to sew on my adult Tomten, did you use the same yarn to sew them on with? My sweater is Lopi and I don't think there is enought "twist" in it to be strong enough. Is it OK to sew buttons on in thread?

I think it would be fine to sew the buttons on with thread. I used a double strand of yarn and just tied it on the back in a square not (good thing we have three extra toggles -- we'll see how well that works out). The Fisherman Weight is finer than the McTaggart Tweed; I'm not sure I would have been able to put buttons on with that.
